I saw a picture on tumblr a while back that had half-hearted graffiti reading “ Kim K’s ass is bigger than fashion week” - I was in denial for about 30 seconds, until I realized how agonizingly true it was.
I barely ever liked Annna Wintour in the first place - but she
earned a soft spot in my heart when she said “Kim Kardashian was the worst
thing since socks and sandals”. Then she magically took a U-turn with Kanye’s
begging and put her on the cover of Vogue in April 2014. My ocean of respect
for her evaporated quicker than nailpolish-remover-liquid.
Then Anna pretty much publicly stated that she did it for the
sales - Oh god, that just makes you sound worse to be honest. Then she went on
to say she was criticized for putting Madonna on the cover of vogue once upon a time-
how’s that even a comparison? Madonna was and is a talented music artist, and
Kim’s a reality TV star that acquired fame via a sex tape?
But let’s look at the other side shall we?Every woman would be quite paranoid and do the same if she had the similar sex-tape situation. I cant help but applaud Kim’s entrepreneurial skills of capitalizing on her fans with clothing and makeup or whatever - She's a smart businesswoman, But that’s pretty much it.
When people look up to Kim and make her an icon, they should
know they glorify narcissism and lack of any substance what so ever. As part of an ever-growing fashion industry, all she's really contributed is her tacky clothing line. She enjoys front row privilege because of her marriage to Kanye and her social media following. There’s some exceptional women in the world - yet here we live in a world where a woman known for
her non-biodegradable organs got to be on the cover just for - you know,
selfies.
Shoutout to at all the magazines, designers and labels that need her for her
social media presence, that’s pretty much how out-of-ideas you really are
currently. You're marketing has hit a new low - and Kim's twitter and instagram followers are your answer to everything.
