Rihanna for Dior : A Freudian slip by the fashion industry.

There's the media flooding their readers with "Rihanna makes history as first black model to feature in Dior" either in their very headlines or lead paragraphs, nobody seems to notice how strange the sound of that really is. We have a Freudian slip by the fashion industry right here.

Last year Jourdan Dunn made headlines for being the first black model to land a solo Vogue UK cover in 12 years - not many people address it, but racism in the fashion world is an issue taken far to lightly : notice, that there's barely any black designers out there, most runways are dominated by lighter-skin-toned models. While were at this, lets take a second to analyse Beyonce and Nicki's excessive skin bleaching. See what attempting to be a fashion-icon-of-a-sort demands?

Carole White - founder of Premier Model Management who's known to have supported and represented Naomi Campbell through most of her modelling career, stated in an article; 'Clients never wanted to pay Naomi as much as the white girls. It was always a battle.’ - well, that's just disturbing.

I really hope I live in a world someday where a black model landing a cover or being the face of a brand isn't big news at all - I ain't ever heard of "Karlie Kloss - white model lands Vogue cover" in my life, it sounds ridiculous to no end.
So after 69 years, Dior's "secret garden" campaign series, found a non-white personality to grace their campaign - and in all honesty,Rihanna does look quite badgalriri-ful in the teasers below.
